“Quantum leap into solid-state batteries”
These are interesting times for the electric vehicle space. QuantumScape, the battery start-up spun out from Stanford University, is to list on the NYSE (under the ticker QS) to fund the world’s first Li-metal battery factory.
Backed by a strong management team and large cornerstone investors, QuantumScape takes the pole position in the solid-state battery race and is a name to watch. The timing of the announcement, ahead of Tesla Battery Day on September 22, is intriguing – we doubt it is a coincidence. Fierce competition to Tesla’s EV dominance is a welcome development, but we expect a robust response…
